2nd Sonic Rainboom (Video)

(As the PokeGear clicks on, unbeknownst to the trainer who wields it, Rainbow Dash has kinda gotten used to her body and use of her legs by now and despite the coldness of the day - but not up early in the morning; this is Dash we're talking about - she doesn't totally mind dealing with the weather while trekking to Violet, eager to meet up with her friends.

The girl had stopped briefly in Cherrygrove Monday afternoon for a night's rest and some much-needed items, like some potions to tend to her Pokemon if they got hurt, food for herself since it would take a week before she saw another city and a little more Pokemon food. Yes, potions as well as regular and Pokemon food. The girl does think ahead sometimes. (She also bought a pair of shades to show off her 'coolness' during future Gym battles.)

What was already with her, as in what she'd found in the backpack was the usual essentials a new trainer needed and an extra set of clothes: a jacket, pants, fingerless gloves and a hat. (Rainbow uses the jacket to hide her chest, as per Twilight's request.)

Before getting back on the path, Dash has currently taken up jogging as a way to test out her feet and legs on how fast she is; at the same time, she's trying to perform daring feats of unpredictable skill against nearby trees that she shouldn't have yet as evidenced by the way she wobbles every now and then to try and maintain her balance.

As she tries another fantastic, not-really-planned move she glances down to notice Blaze holding up the 'Gear and suddenly trips before crashing to the ground with a scream.)

...Blaze! Who said you could turn on my 'Gear like that? (She sighs before tugging it from Blaze's hands.)

Sorry about that; obviously Blaze felt like playing and turned it on, eheh. Oh, as long as I'm on...Twilight! I looked at that list and figured out which 5 I like best, but I already know what I'm gonna get.

[OOC: Gelbooru doesn't appear to like me, but Twi probably wouldn't talk about outfits as long as they meet the basic standards of decency anyway.]

(Obviously since she can't perform her usual moves, Rainbow's decided to make up new ones. Hopefully when they all meet up, Twilight and Fluttershy can 'convince' her to try safer methods.)

Thought about it for a while, and it came to me. What's the best compliment for a Fire Pokemon?

(By then, she'll have figured out what to name her new moves.)

(OOC: Aww. Bad Gelbooru! But yep, totally understandable and Rainbow would listen to a point before getting bored.)

Well, that kind of depends on what you're going to be fighting... I mean, the most obvious answer is a Water-type, since you'd get lots of coverage that way, and Water can take out Rock and Ground, which Fire's weak to. But you could also go for a Rock type, or a Grass Type, which could take out Water as well as Rock and Ground, so... There are a lot of options. Which one did you decide on?

[What, did you expect her to not nerd out on Poke-strategy? Silly you, Rainbow!]

...You could've just said 'Water' and I'd get that easy. And yeah, there are a lot of options. Matter-of-fact, there are too many!

Anyway, after discussing it with Blaze I realized who to pick. I decided to get the turtle Pokemon!

(A beat.)

And I decided to get another with just a little bit of money~! I got some stuff before leaving Cherrygrove, and it shouldn't be too long before I get to Violet. Maybe another 3-4 days...?

(She should be there sometime Tuesday unless Twi's actually gotten the Fly HM.)

Turtle Pokemon... I'll assume you mean Squirtle and not Turtwig, since you mentioned Water-types.

[Also, Turtwig is a tortoise.]

Well, that's definitely a decent choice. Which other one are you talking about, though?

[She'll mention the fact that she has, indeed, done just once she's more or less figured out Rainbow's plans for the next few days.]

Hehehe, yeah that's the one! Might've picked Tank back home in Ponyville right off if he looked like Squirtle.

*Your friendly neighborhood Imogen. She smiles before tossing the Gear over to her cameramon, Tailypo. She's got overalls and her hair in a simple (her standards) pair of twintails. She's standing with Wildfyre, who looks a bit taller, but not quite big enough to ride and look cool.*

Heh, yeah. It's not easy but I'm getting the hang of it; just trying some moves out, but haven't figured out what to name them. How are things going with you?

I'm sure you'll figure out amazing and cool names for them! It'll just take time, like the two legs thing! What route are you on?

Oh! I've been coming along really fast with the riding lessons. It was a bit slow going, the ranch Rapidash didn't like me at first. But now it doesn't try to burn me or throw me off anymore! So now we can practice till Wildfyre is big for proper riding.

...It is getting to be a bit too cold for me to work out here, I'll stay the week then start for the nearest town and figure out what to do from there. Plus there should be an egg waiting for me, and I need a plan for taking on Falkner in a few weeks.

Thanks! Oh, I'm on 30 and in a day or so I should hit 31. Ha, might avoid the cave for now since I just have Blaze with me but I'm gonna get a couple more so I can at least train 'em up and challenge Gyms after Hearth's Warming Eve.

I caught a few on my way to Cherrygrove. It's a good idea to have a few others with you, in case you run into something Blaze can't handle. Which would be most of the stuff in the cave, I think.

Lesse, it took me... eleven days to get out here. Provided the snow doesn't get too bad, and if Wildfyre can help I can probably be back in Violet in eight or nine? How does that work?

That works great! I'm pretty sure one of my friends has more than 3 badges, and she's kinda an egghead but still very cool. My other friend's kind and...loves this place. She doesn't go for the Gym battles, though.

...You know, maybe I oughta enroll you in some behavioral classes.

Anyway, you're right on the munny. Zen's the evolved from of Squirtle.

Wow! An evolved Squirtle and Charmander...I put in an order for Squirtle and another Pokémon a couple days ago at the centre, mostly 'cause they look awesome but also to balance out Blaze's Fire abilities.

(She waves back in response, awed by the skill Riku has as a trainer.)

Smart move. The more type coverage you get, the better you'll do in battles. Although...

[He smirks, turning the camera away from Zen (much to her dismay) and over to Flare, who's... currently kicking back with a Lucario.]

Flare, come here for a second.

[Raising an eyebrow, Flare pushes himself away from the wall and wanders over. He and Riku exchange a quiet glance and then, with a snort, Flare raises his fist as a surge of sparks form around it.

An electric attack? You bet.]

Still doesn't hurt to cover all the bases.
